Teatro do Movimento
The Teatro do Movimento was founded in 1993 by the junction of rooms 01 and 02 of the ground floor of the old building of the Dance School of the UFBA, being a pioneer in Salvador for exclusive dance performances. Today, with the creation of the Teatro Experimental (Experimental Theater) and for also being configured as a Dance School Laboratory, the Teatro do Movimento has become a multifunctional space for the arts, destined to receive artistic and academic activities related to the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Dance courses, or developed within the scope of extension and research, proposed by both the internal and external community at UFBA.
This multifunctional space is configured as a black box with acoustic insulation and an average size of 200 square metres, offering versatility that surprises and stimulates creativity. The Teatro do Movimento can receive activities of Research Groups; presentations of students, teachers and administrative technicians of the Dance School; specific undergraduate and postgraduate classes; seminars, symposiums, congresses, exhibitions, lectures, courses, masterclasses, artistic residencies, conferences, among other similar meetings of scientific, academic or related nature.
The Teatro do Movimento is managed by the Coordination of Artistic-Academic Activities of the Dance School of the UFBA. The theatre team is composed of a stage manager, technical assistants and student interns who, under supervision, assist in the staging and operation of the equipment.
Facilities and equipment
The space has lighting, sound, projection equipment, linoleum in the scenic area, acoustic treatment and air conditioning. In addition, it has equipment for Audiodescription, being the pioneer in the Northeast of the country in complying with the Law of Accessibility regarding the right of access to cultural products.
Capacity varies according to the disposition of seats, reaching a maximum of 80 people on site.

Teatro Experimental
The Teatro Experimental is a space of the Dance School of UFBA founded in 2015 for creation, research and artistic presentation. It is also a Laboratory and, as such, is focused on the development of interaction activities between teaching, extension, research, innovation and artistic creation.
Its architecture is characterized by a shed of 240 square meters, with a height of more than ten meters, with metal gates on two different sides, which provide the integration on scene of the internal and external space, surrounded by a preserved piece of Atlantic Forest inside the Campus. The mobility of the seats also allows the exploration of different spatial configurations, making the relationship between stage and audience more flexible. Due to these characteristics, the Teatro Experimental is a unique space in the city of Salvador, and its versatility makes it possible to carry out the most different activities: Artistic presentations, mainly of dance; solemn public acts of the institution itself; seminars, symposiums, congresses, lectures, courses, workshops, masterclasses, artistic residencies, conferences, master and doctorate defenses, among other similar meetings of scientific, academic or correlated nature; specific undergraduate and postgraduate classes; activities of research groups and resident groups; activities of the GDC - Contemporary Dance Group of UFBA.

The space has lighting, sound, projection, and air conditioning equipment. In addition, it has the necessary equipment for Audiodescription. It has stage structures in aluminum line P-300mm composed of trusses and accessories complying with the project. The aluminium structures are composed of base, towers, corner block 3 phases U, screws, washers, nuts, loading stick, sleeve block. The grid is suspended by 4 manual hoists. The hoists have a minimum load capacity of 1000 kg, such as overload limiter, cast aluminium alloy housings and covers, machined load chain pulley, overload protection, machined and heat treated grease lubricated gears, long setting limit switch, special steel chain guides, forged and heat treated hooks, high durability steel chain with minimum length of 7m and brake.
